Physiotherapy

What is a Physiotherapist?

A physiotherapist is a healthcare professional who aims to help people improve their physical function and mobility. They work with individuals of all ages and conditions, using techniques such as exercise, manual therapy, and education to address pain, injuries, and disabilities. Physiotherapists aim to enhance movement, restore function, and promote overall well-being through treatment plans individualized to each patient’s needs.

Who can benefit from seeing a Physiotherapist?

Physiotherapists can help individuals recovering from injuries or surgeries, experiencing chronic pain like arthritis, athletes aiming to improve performance, individuals with neurological conditions, and those seeking to improve physical function and prevent injuries.

What does a session look like?

Sessions will vary from 40 to 60 minutes.

The physiotherapist will initially ask several questions to understand your health history and understand the issues that you are having.

After, your practitioner will evaluate your posture, movements and will perform several special tests to help determine the root cause of your symptoms and start to develop a plan for you to work towards your goals.

Treatment will include several different techniques such as manual therapy, needling techniques, posture correction, exercise and more to manage pain, improve mobility and strength.

A home exercise program will be prescribed to try to continue improving after seeing your therapist.
