What is a Registered Massage Therapist?

A registered massage therapist is registered with the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario. This means they’ve completed a recognized massage therapy education program and they’ve completed the CMTO’s certification exams.

Who can benefit from massage therapy?

Anyone! Whether you just want to relax and disconnect, you’ve had a sports injury or you’re dealing with chronic pain.

What does a massage therapy session look like?

You will be asked to fill out a health history intake form before your first appointment. Your therapist will review it with you and will assess the areas that you would like to have treated. After your massage your therapist will give you some self-care to do at home.

What can massage therapy help me with?

Massage therapy has many benefits which include; relaxation, aiding muscle pain, joint pain, reducing inflammation and much more.

How long are the sessions?

When booking an appointment you’ll have the choice of booking a 30, 45, 60 or 90 minutes session. 

30 minutes massages would best benefit you if you have one area of concern, but would still like to receive a general area worked on.

45 minutes massages would best benefit you if you have one area of concern, but would still like to receive a few general areas worked on.

60 minutes massages would be best for a full body massage and/or 2 areas of concern with some general areas.

90 minutes massages would be best for a full body massage and a few areas of concern.

Is massage therapy covered by my extended health insurance?

Massage therapy is covered by most extended health insurance, your massage therapist will provide you with a receipt that will allow you to submit to your insurance.
